1. Outline

　Fixed Flammable Gas Detection System is to be installed to detect flammable gases (cargoes) leaked to cargo equipment spaces, pump rooms, double hull spaces, cofferdams, void spaces and other spaces in or adjacent to cargo area. The spaces monitored are determined in accordance with the requirements of SOLAS, IBC Code and IGC Code as well as those of USCG, Oil Majors and ship-owners.

Gas detection sensors are procured from Riken Keiki Co., Ltd. keeping technical tie-up. In combination of the sensors and other devices we select, we produce our original systems.

2. Specifications and Features

For Liquefied Gas Carriers.

• Indication/Alarm Units and Gas Detection Unit are contained in a common panel and placed in cargo control room.
• In the spaces to be monitored, only suction nozzles are fitted and it is extended with piping and connected to gas detector via selective valves in a panel in cargo control room.
• All the applicable spaces are regularly monitored with sequential control.
• A separate gas detector is provided to detect gas leakage inside monitoring panel.
• Visible and audible alarm is provided in wheel house.
• An electronic alarm with a rotating light is provided on compass bridge deck.
• For monitoring panel, either self-standing or console type can be selected.

For Chemical and Oil Tankers.

• Indication/Alarm Units and Gas Detection Unit are fitted for each place to be monitored. (independent continuous monitoring)
• Indication/Alarm Units are placed in cargo control room and in wheel house.
• Diffusion type and pump-suction type of Gas Detection Units are fitted.
• An electronic alarm with a rotating light is provided on compass bridge deck.
• Alarm setting value is LEL25% gas density.
